1. What JODOCUR is and what it is used for

JODOCUR is an antiseptic medicinal product based on iodine. It contains the active substance iodopovidone, which belongs to a group of medicines called antimicrobials and antiseptics, used to eliminate or inhibit the growth of microorganisms such as bacteria and viruses responsible for infections and inflammations.
JODOCUR can be used either undiluted or diluted.

Undiluted JODOCUR is used for:

the treatment of lesions (ulcerations) in the mouth;
disinfecting minor superficial wounds and mild pressure sores (skin lesions affecting body parts subjected to prolonged pressure);
disinfecting the skin in the surgical area prior to surgery.

Diluted JODOCUR is used for:

the treatment of mouth infections;
the treatment of tonsillitis (inflammation of the tonsils);
feminine intimate hygiene.

2. What you need to know before using JODOCUR

Do not use JODOCUR

if you are allergic to povidone-iodine (to iodine) or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);

Contact your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short period of treatment.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using JODOCUR.
The use, especially if prolonged, of topical medicinal products may lead to allergic reactions (sensitization).
If this occurs, inform your doctor, as it may be necessary to discontinue treatment with JODOCUR and initiate appropriate therapy.
Other medicines and JODOCUR
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are currently using, have recently used, or might use any other
medicines.
Avoid using JODOCUR together with other antiseptic medicines, as the effects of JODOCUR may be affected or may affect the effects of these medicines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding If you are pregnant, suspect you may be pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are breastfeeding, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.

If you are breastfeeding, the use of JODOCUR for intimate hygiene is not recommended without first consulting your doctor. Iodine is absorbed through the vaginal mucosa and passes into breast milk.
Driving and using machines
JODOCUR does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.

3. How to use JODOCUR

Use this medicine exactly as stated in this leaflet or as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any doubts, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
JODOCUR pure for external use only:
you may use pure JODOCUR as a substitute for iodine tincture.
JODOCUR diluted:

for gargling, the recommended dose is: 40 drops (2 ml) in half a glass of water;
as a mouthwash and for oral hygiene, the recommended dose is: 20 drops (1 ml) diluted in half a glass of water;
for feminine intimate hygiene, the recommended dose is: 2 tablespoons in 1 litre of lukewarm water.

Do not exceed the recommended doses without medical advice. Use the medicine only for short-term treatment.
Instructions for opening and closing the bottle
The bottle is equipped with a child-resistant safety closure.
To open the bottle, remove the cap by unscrewing it completely, then screw the cap back on halfway and lift it off.
To close the bottle, place the cap on the mouth of the bottle, press down and screw it on.
If you use more JODOCUR than you should
Accidental ingestion of excessive amounts of this medicine may cause severe poisoning.
In case of accidental ingestion/overdose of JODOCUR, inform your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital.
If you forget to use JODOCUR
Do not use a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
If you have any doubts about the use of this medicine, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them.
In allergic (hypersensitive) subjects or due to incorrect use of the product, the following may occur:

irritation of the oral mucosa.

5. How to store JODOCUR

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the carton and bottle after "Exp.".
The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not dispose of any medicine via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of
medicines you no longer use. This will help protect the environment.

6. Package contents and other information

What JODOCUR contains

The active substance is iodopovidone. 1 ml of solution contains 100 mg iodopovidone, equivalent to 10 mg of active iodine. One 100 ml bottle contains 10 g of iodopovidone, equivalent to 1 g of active iodine. One 30 ml bottle contains 3 g of iodopovidone, equivalent to 0.3 g of active iodine.
The other components are: polysorbate 20, purified water.

Description of the appearance of JODOCUR and contents of the pack
JODOCUR is a 10% solution.
Pack sizes available: 1 bottle containing 30 ml of solution and 1 bottle containing 100 ml of solution.
