1. What MASTER-AID Disinfectant is and what it is used for

MASTER-AID Disinfectant contains the active substance chlorhexidine digluconate, which belongs to the category of biguanides and is a topical (local) dermatological (skin) disinfectant.
It acts on the bacterial cell membrane, causing its rupture.
MASTER-AID Disinfectant is used for disinfection and cleaning of the skin in the presence of wounds, superficial burns, and mild pressure ulcers (skin lesions affecting areas of the body subjected to pressure for prolonged periods).
If you do not feel better or feel worse, consult your doctor.

2. What you need to know before using MASTER-AID Disinfectant

Do not use MASTER-AID Disinfectant

• if you are allergic to chlorhexidine digluconate or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using MASTER-AID Disinfectant.
Do not use MASTER-AID Disinfectant for prolonged treatments; if there is no noticeable improvement after a short period of treatment, consult your doctor. Accidental ingestion or inhalation of some disinfectants may lead to serious, sometimes fatal, consequences. Avoid contact with the eyes. Do not expose the treated area to direct sunlight after application of the product. The product must not come into contact with the brain, meninges (membranes covering the central nervous system), or the middle ear (the part of the ear between the outer and inner ear), nor should it enter the ear canal in case of tympanic membrane perforation.

This product is for external use only; the use, especially if prolonged, of topical products may cause sensitization reactions; in such cases, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor to establish appropriate therapy.
Children
MASTER-AID Disinfectant may cause chemical burns, especially in newborns.
Other medicines and MASTER-AID Disinfectant
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines.
Avoid simultaneous use of other antiseptics (antibacterial agents) and detergents.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before using this medicine.
MASTER-AID Disinfectant can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
Driving and using machines
Does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
Important information about certain excipients
MASTER-AID Disinfectant contains citrus flavour, which in turn contains citral, citronellol, coumarin, farnesol, geraniol, limonene, and linalool.
Citral, citronellol, coumarin, farnesol, geraniol, limonene, and linalool may cause allergic reactions.

3. How to use MASTER-AID Disinfectant

Use this medicine exactly as stated in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any doubts, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Apply an amount of solution appropriate to the size of the affected area 2–3 times daily.
Do not exceed the recommended doses without medical advice.
Use only for short-term treatment.
If you use more MASTER-AID Disinfectant than you should
In case of accidental ingestion/intake of MASTER-AID Disinfectant, inform your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
In some cases, intolerance (burning or irritation) may occur, but this is usually without consequences and does not require treatment modification. Rare cases of idiosyncrasy (intolerance) to chlorhexidine have been reported.

5. How to store MASTER-AID Disinfectant

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging after "Exp". The expiry date refers to the product in its original, unopened packaging and properly stored.
Store the container tightly closed, protected from light and in a cool place.
Do not dispose of any medicine via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer in use. This will help protect the environment.

6. Package contents and other information

What MASTER-AID Disinfectant contains

• The active substance is chlorhexidine digluconate. 100 ml of solution contain 1 g of chlorhexidine digluconate.
• The other components are citrus essence, purified water.

MASTER-AID Disinfectant is used for disinfection and cleansing of the skin in the presence of wounds, superficial burns, and mild pressure ulcers (skin lesions affecting body parts subjected to pressure for prolonged periods).

2. What you need to know before using MASTER-AID Disinfectant

Apply 2-3 times a day to the affected area an amount of solution appropriate to the extent of the lesion.
Do not exceed the recommended doses without medical advice.
Use only for short treatment periods.
If you use more MASTER-AID Disinfectant than you should
In case of accidental ingestion/ingestion of MASTER-AID Disinfectant, inform your doctor immediately or go to the nearest hospital.

4. Possible side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody will experience them.
