7. What DOVEN is and what it is used for

DOVEN contains the active substance diosmin.
Diosmin belongs to a group of medicines called bioflavonoids and is used for the treatment of symptoms due to venous insufficiency and capillary fragility.

8. What you should know before taking DOVEN

Do not take DOVEN

  • if you are allergic to diosmin or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine listed in section 6;
  • if you are pregnant.

Other medicines and DOVEN
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken, or might take any other medicines.
You may take DOVEN in combination with other medicines.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
If you are pregnant, suspect you may be pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or are breastfeeding, consult your doctor or pharmacist before taking this medicine.
The safety of DOVEN during pregnancy and breastfeeding has not been established; do not take DOVEN if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Driving and using machines
No effects of DOVEN on the ability to drive or operate machinery have been reported.
DOVEN contains lactose
This medicine contains lactose. If you have been diagnosed by your doctor with an intolerance to certain sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicine.

9. How to take DOVEN

Take this medicine exactly as stated in this leaflet or as prescribed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any doubts, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is 1 tablet three times daily, taken during meals.
In acute stages of the disease, the dose may be increased up to 4 tablets daily for a period of 3-4 weeks.

10. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody experiences them.
If you experience any of the following side effects, stop treatment with DOVEN and inform your doctor.
Rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 patients):

  • Abdominal pain
  • Nausea
  • Diarrhea
  • Dizziness

11. How to store DOVEN
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the label after {Exp.}. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
Do not dispose of medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer used. This will help protect the environment.

What DOVEN contains
The active substance is diosmin.
Each DOVEN tablet contains 300 mg of diosmin.
Other components are: lactose, wheat starch, sodium carboxymethylcellulose, magnesium stearate.
