INSTRUCTION FOR MEDICAL USE OF MEDICINAL PRODUCT ETHYL ALCOHOL 70% (ALCOHOL ETHYL 70%)
Composition:
Active substance: ethanol;
not less than 69.3% v/v and not more than 70.7% v/v ethanol and water.
Pharmaceutical form. Solution for external use.
Main physico-chemical properties: clear, colorless, volatile, flammable liquid.
Hygroscopic.

Antiseptics and disinfectants. ATC code D08AX08.
Pharmacological properties.
Pharmacodynamics.
When applied externally, exerts antiseptic, disinfectant, and local irritant effects. Ethanol coagulates proteins and is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as viruses.
Pharmacokinetics.
When applied locally, it is not absorbed through the skin.
Clinical characteristics.
Indications.
Furuncles, paronychias, infiltrates, mastitis in the initial stages. For wiping and compresses. Surgical hand disinfection.
Contraindications.
Hypersensitivity. Should not be used in acute inflammatory skin conditions.
Safety precautions.
If redness or skin irritation occurs, discontinue use and wash the area with water.
Avoid contact of the preparation with eyes.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.
When ethanol is applied externally, interactions with other medicinal products are unknown.
Special precautions for use.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the drug should be used only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.
Ability to affect reaction speed when driving or operating machinery.

Administration and Dosage
External use – for wiping, compresses, and disinfection of the skin, including hands.
For compresses and wiping (for burn prevention), ethanol should be diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio.
Children
Use as directed by a physician.
Overdose
Cases of overdose are unknown with external application.
Adverse reactions.
Skin or mucous membrane irritation is possible with local use.
If any adverse events occur, consult a physician.
Shelf life. 5 years.
The product must not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
Storage conditions.
Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C in the original packaging, in a place inaccessible to children. Avoid contact with open flame.
