INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT ETIL 70% (AETHYL 70%)

Composition:

Active substance: ethanol;

ethanol not less than 69.3% and not more than 70.7% by volume, and purified water.

Pharmaceutical form. Solution for external use.

Main physico-chemical properties: clear, colorless, volatile, flammable liquid. Hygroscopic.

When applied externally, exerts antiseptic, disinfectant, and local irritant effects. Ethanol coagulates proteins and is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as viruses.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Furuncles, felons, infiltrates, mastitis in the initial stages. For wiping and compresses. Surgical hand disinfection.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity. Should not be used in acute inflammatory skin conditions.

Special precautions.

In case of skin redness or irritation, discontinue use of the medicinal product and wash off the liquid with water.

Avoid contact with eyes!

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

When ethanol is used topically, interactions with other medicinal products are unknown.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the medicinal product should be used only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Method of Administration and Dosage

Externally – for rubbing, compresses, and disinfection of the skin, including hands. For compresses and rubbing (to prevent burns), ethanol should be diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio.

Cases of overdose are unknown with topical application.

Side effects.

Skin or mucous membrane irritation is possible with local use.
