INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT BIOSEPT 70

Composition:

Active substance: ethanol;

ethanol content between 69.3% v/v and 70.7% v/v, and water.

Pharmaceutical form. Solution for external use.

Main physicochemical properties: clear, colorless, volatile, flammable liquid. Hygroscopic.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics.

When applied externally, exerts an antiseptic, disinfectant, and locally irritating effect. Ethanol coagulates proteins and is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as viruses.

Pharmacokinetics.

When applied locally, it is not absorbed through the skin.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Furuncles, felon, infiltrates, mastitis in the initial stages. For wiping and compresses. Surgical treatment of surgeons' hands.

Contraindications.

Increased individual sensitivity. Acute inflammatory skin conditions.

Special precautions.

In case of skin redness and irritation, the use of the medicinal product must be discontinued and the liquid washed off with water.

Avoid contact of the preparation with eyes!

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

The results of interaction when applying ethanol externally with other medicinal products are unknown.

Special precautions for use.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the use of this medicinal product is possible only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Ability to influence reaction rate when driving or operating machinery.

Has no effect.

Administration and Dosage.

Topical use – for rubbing, compresses, and skin disinfection, including hands.

For compresses and rubbing (to prevent irritation), ethanol should be diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio.

Children.

Use only as directed by a physician.

Overdose.

Cases of overdose with topical application are unknown.

Side effects.

Skin or mucous membrane irritation is possible with local application.

In case of any adverse reactions, consult a physician.

Shelf life.

5 years.

Do not use the medication after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

Storage conditions.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C in the original packaging, in a place inaccessible to children. Avoid contact with open flame.
