INSTRUCTION FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT MOTHERWORT HERB (leonuricardiacaeherba)

Composition:

Active substance: motherwort herb (leonuricardiacaeherba);

1 pack contains 50 g or 100 g of motherwort herb (leonuricardiacaeherba);

1 filter bag contains 1.5 g of motherwort herb (leonuricardiacaeherba).

Dosage form. Herb.

Main physico-chemical properties: fragments of stems, leaves, and inflorescences passing through a sieve with 7 mm diameter openings. Color is grayish-green. Odor is weak. Taste is bitter (for packs).

Powdery mass, mixture of grayish-green particles. Odor is weak. Taste is bitter (for filter bags).

Pharmacotherapeutic group.

Sedatives and hypnotics. ATC code N05CM.

Pharmacological properties.

The biologically active substances of the drug have pronounced sedative, spasmolytic, hypotensive, and cardiotoxic properties; they slow heart rate, increase the force of cardiac contractions, while simultaneously reducing the myocardium's oxygen demand.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Mild arterial hypertension; excessive nervous excitability; neuroses and neurosis-like conditions (as part of combination therapy).

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to the biologically active substances of the drug. Arterial hypotension, bradycardia.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interactions.

When used concurrently, may enhance the effects of ethanol, sedatives or hypnotics, cardiac glycosides, analgesics, and antihypertensive drugs.

Special precautions.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Use only after consulting a physician, who should assess the benefit-risk ratio for the fetus/child.

Ability to affect reaction speed when driving vehicles or operating machinery.

The drug should be used with caution when driving vehicles or operating machinery due to the possible occurrence of drowsiness or dizziness.

Dosage and Administration.

Place 2 tablespoons of the herb in an enameled container, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid, and heat on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, then strain and squeeze the residue into the strained infusion. Adjust the infusion volume to 200 ml with boiled water. Take warm, 3–4 times daily, 15–20 minutes before meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – 2 tablespoons; for children aged 10–14 years – 1 tablespoon; for children aged 5–10 years – 1 dessert spoon.

Shake the infusion well before use.

Place 2 filter bags into a glass or enameled container, pour 100 ml of boiling water, cover and let steep for 15–20 minutes. Take warm, 3–4 times daily, 15–20 minutes before meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – 2 tablespoons; for children aged 10–14 years – 1 tablespoon; for children aged 5–10 years – 1 dessert spoon.

The duration of treatment is determined individually by a physician.

Children.

The drug may be administered to children aged 5 years and older as prescribed by a physician.

Overdose.

In case of overdose, symptoms may include increased fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness, and decreased arterial blood pressure.

Treatment: symptomatic therapy.

Adverse reactions.

Allergic reactions (including hyperemia, rash, itching, skin swelling), gastrointestinal disorders, increased fatigue, drowsiness, dizziness may occur.

If any adverse reactions occur, discontinue use of the medication and consult a physician.

Shelf life. 3 years.

Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

Storage conditions.

Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.

Keep out of reach of children.

The prepared infusion should be stored at a temperature between 8 °C and 15 °C for no more than 2 days.

1 pack contains herb of hemp nettle (Leonuri cardiacae herba) 50 g or 100 g;

1 filter bag contains herb of hemp nettle (Leonuri cardiacae herba) 1.5 g.
