INSTRUCTION FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT ZELENIN'S DROPS (GUTTAE ZELENINI)

Composition:

Active substances: belladonna leaf tincture, lily-of-the-valley herb tincture, valerian rhizomes with roots tincture, racemic menthol;

1 ml of the preparation contains:
belladonna leaf tincture (Belladonnae folia) (1:10) (extractant – ethanol 40%) – 0.2 ml;
lily-of-the-valley herb tincture (Convallariae herba) (1:10) (extractant – ethanol 70%) – 0.4 ml;
valerian rhizomes with roots tincture (Valerianae rhizomata cum radicibus) (1:5) (extractant – ethanol 70%) – 0.4 ml;
racemic menthol – 8 mg.

Pharmaceutical form. Oral drops.

Basic physicochemical properties: clear liquid of greenish or yellowish-brown color with a characteristic odor.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics.

The drug exerts sedative, spasmolytic, cardiotonic, and analgesic effects, caused by biologically active substances contained in the drug. Due to the presence of belladonna tincture, it accelerates heart rate.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Vegetative neuroses, bradycardia.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug. Organic lesions of the heart and blood vessels, glaucoma, prostatic hyperplasia.

Special precautions.

The drug should be used with caution in elderly patients and children aged 12 years and older due to the presence of belladonna tincture (atropine-group alkaloids).

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

The drug enhances the effects of sedatives, hypnotics, neuroleptics, tranquilizers on the central nervous system, as well as cardiotonics and analgesics. It reduces the efficacy of antiarrhythmic agents prescribed for tachycardia.

Special precautions.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Contraindicated.

Ability to affect reaction speed when driving or operating machinery.

During treatment with this medicinal product, driving and operating machinery should be avoided.

Dosage and Administration.

For oral use. Adults should take 20–25 drops 2–3 times daily, diluted in a small amount of water. For children aged 12 years and older – 1 drop per year of life, 2–3 times daily. The duration of treatment is determined by the physician.

Children.

Do not use in children under 12 years of age.

Overdose.

Symptoms may include palpitations, dry mouth, accommodation disturbances, pupil dilation, headache, dizziness, general weakness, nausea, and tachycardia. If signs of overdose occur, discontinue use of the drug immediately and consult a physician for symptomatic treatment.

Adverse reactions.

Neurological disorders: psychomotor agitation, drowsiness, depression, decreased mental and physical performance, emotional suppression, headache, dizziness, visual disturbances.

Cardiac disorders: tachycardia.

Gastrointestinal disorders: dry mouth, thirst, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, constipation.

Musculoskeletal and connective tissue disorders: muscle weakness.

Allergic reactions, including skin redness, rash, itching, swelling.

General disorders: increased body temperature.

Shelf life.

3 years. Do not use the medicinal product after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25 ºC, protected from light and kept out of reach of children.
