Use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has instructed you.

1. What Verunec is and what it is used for
Verunec is a viscous solution (collodion) for application to the skin, containing the active substances salicylic acid and lactic acid, which belong to the class of keratolytic agents. Keratolytics work by softening hard, thickened (calloused) skin and promoting its removal.
Verunec is indicated for the treatment of:
- common, plantar, and mosaic warts. A wart is defined as a characteristic skin lesion, classified differently depending on the site of occurrence and the responsible virus.
- corns and calluses (hard, thickened areas caused by pressure and friction of the skin).
Consult your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after a short period of treatment.
2. What you need to know before using Verunec
Do not use Verunec
- if you are allergic to salicylic acid, lactic acid, or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
- if you have diabetes.
- if you suffer from circulatory disorders. Avoid application on the face and anogenital area, as with all high-salicylic-acid-content products due to their irritating effect.
Warnings and precautions
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Verunec.
- Do not apply the medicine on: seborrheic warts, facial warts, genital warts (condylomata), or skin moles (cutaneous nevi).
- Avoid contact of this medicine with eyes and mucous membranes. In case of contact with eyes or mucous membranes, rinse with water, remove any residue formed, and continue rinsing with water for 15 minutes.
- Avoid applying Verunec on the normal skin surrounding the calloused area.
- Use, especially if prolonged, of topical skin products may lead to sensitization reactions (allergy to one or more components). If this occurs, discontinue treatment and consult your doctor, who will prescribe appropriate therapy.

- Do not use Verunec to prevent the formation of warts.
- Do not use this medicine for prolonged treatments; if no noticeable improvement occurs after a short period of treatment, consult your doctor.
Other medicines and Verunec
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are currently using, have recently used, or might use any other medicines.
Do not use other keratolytic agents simultaneously with Verunec, as they may increase the aggressive action of the active ingredients.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant, think you might be pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
Since the safety of this medicine during pregnancy has not been established, use it only if clearly needed and under medical supervision.
Driving and operating machinery
Verunec does not affect the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.
3. How to use Verunec
Use this medicinal product exactly as described in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist. If you have any doubts, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
Apply a small amount of the medicinal product to the affected area twice daily (morning and evening) using the provided spatula. Allow it to evaporate for a few minutes.
Verunec forms a protective film that requires no special care and can be easily removed when applying subsequent doses.
Before using this medicinal product, the following procedure is recommended: soak the application area in warm water for about 5 minutes and gently scrub with a pumice stone or abrasive file occasionally (2–3 times per week).
Continue treatment until the callus has been completely removed.
Do not exceed the recommended doses.
If you use more Verunec than you should
Cases of overdose have not been reported. However, if an excessive amount of the medicinal product is applied, immediately and thoroughly wash the area with water and consult your doctor.
Verunec is for external use only. Do not swallow this medicinal product. In case of accidental ingestion or swallowing, immediately inform your doctor or go to the nearest hospital.
If you have any doubts about how to use this medicinal product, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
4. Possible side effects
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everyone will experience them.
If you happen to apply the medicine on the skin surrounding the hyperkeratotic lesion (wart or callus), localized irritation may occur. This can be managed by temporarily discontinuing application. When resuming treatment, take care to apply the medicine only to the affected area.
Following the instructions contained in this leaflet reduces the risk of side effects.

5. How to store Verunec

Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the pack after "Exp". The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
The product is flammable; store the bottle tightly closed and away from flames or sources of heat.
Do not dispose of any medicine via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines you no longer use. This will help protect the environment.
6. Package contents and other information
What Verunec contains
- The active substances are salicylic acid and lactic acid. 100 g of collodion contain 15 g of salicylic acid and 15 g of lactic acid.
- The other components are: urea, glycerin, flexible collodion USP (composed of camphor, castor oil, pyroxylin, ethyl ether, ethyl alcohol).

Verunec is a collodion supplied in a 10 gram glass bottle with an applicator cap.
