1. What InhalVicks is and what it is used for

InhalVicks is a nasal decongestant. It is indicated in adults and children over 6 years of age for the relief of nasal congestion associated with allergic and infectious disorders of the upper respiratory tract.

You should consult a doctor if symptoms worsen or do not improve after 7 days.

2. What you need to know before using InhalVicks

Do not use InhalVicks

  • if you are allergic to the active substances or to any of the other components of this medicine (listed in section 6),
  • in children under 6 years of age.

Warnings and precautions

Consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting to use InhalVicks.

Do not use for more than 7 consecutive days.

To prevent spreading infections, avoid letting other people use the same container.

Avoid contact with the eyes.

Other medicines and InhalVicks

Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used, or might need to use any other medicines.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you might be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.

InhalVicks is contraindicated during pregnancy.

Driving and using machines

InhalVicks does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.

3. How to use InhalVicks

Follow exactly the instructions for use provided in this leaflet or those given by your doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

The recommended dose is:

Adults and children over 6 years of age:

1 or 2 inhalations into each nostril. Repeat every 1–2 hours if necessary.

For nasal use only. Unscrew the cap. Insert into one nostril while keeping the other nostril closed. Breathe in deeply.

Use in children

InhalVicks is contraindicated in children under 6 years of age.

If you use more InhalVicks than you should

If you use too much of this medicine, contact your doctor or the nearest hospital emergency department immediately.

In case of overdose or accidental ingestion, go immediately to a medical center or call the Toxicology Information Service (telephone 91 562 04 20), stating the medicine and the amount ingested. Take this leaflet with you to the hospital or doctor.

In case of accidental ingestion of InhalVicks by children, consult a doctor immediately so they can provide the necessary treatment. Do not attempt to induce vomiting.

If you forget to use InhalVicks

Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

If you stop using InhalVicks

If you have any further questions about the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.

4. Possible adverse effects

Like all medicines, this medicine may cause adverse effects, although not everyone will experience them.

The following adverse effects have been observed during the period of use of InhalVicks, for which the frequency could not be precisely established.

Nasal discomfort has rarely been reported.

If you consider any of the adverse effects you experience to be severe, or if you notice any adverse effects not listed in this leaflet, inform your doctor or pharmacist.

Reporting of adverse effects

If you experience any type of adverse effect, consult your doctor or pharmacist, even if it is a possible adverse effect not mentioned in this leaflet. You may also report them directly through the Spanish Pharmacovigilance System for Human Medicinal Products: https://www.notificaram.es. By reporting adverse effects, you can help provide more information on the safety of this medicine.

5. Storage of InhalVicks

No special storage conditions are required.

Keep out of the sight and reach of children.

Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.

Medicines must not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Dispose of unused medicines and their containers at the SIGRE collection point at your pharmacy. If in doubt, ask your pharmacist how to properly dispose of unused medicines and their packaging. This will help protect the environment.

6. Contents of the pack and other information

Composition of InhalVicks

The active substances per 1 ml of medicinal solution are: 396.7 mg of camphor and 396.7 mg of menthol.

The other components are: methyl salicylate, pine essential oil.

Appearance of the product and contents of the pack

Nasal stick containing inside a cellulose felt pad impregnated with 1.0 ml of medicinal solution, housed in a plastic holder with a screw cap.
