Warnings and precautions

- When starting treatment with Benzac wash gel, mild stinging may occur upon first application, followed after a few days by moderate redness and skin peeling. It is normal to experience peeling during the first weeks of treatment; this effect is not harmful and usually disappears within 1 or 2 days after temporarily stopping treatment. To help prevent this possible effect, it is recommended to start application on a small area and gradually extend it to the affected area after a few days. If persistent irritation occurs, consult your doctor.
- Exercise caution when applying to sensitive skin.
- Make sure that Benzac wash gel does not come into contact with the eyes, mouth, nasal passages, or other sensitive areas of the body. If this occurs, rinse the affected areas immediately with plenty of lukewarm water.
- Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight and UV lamps.
- Benzac wash gel must not be used on damaged skin (areas with cuts, scratches, or eczema).
- Avoid contact of Benzac wash gel with your hair or colored fabrics, as it may cause bleaching. Wash your hands thoroughly after using this medicine.
Using Benzac wash gel with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used, or might need to use any other medicines.
- Do not use other keratolytic or acne products (containing benzoyl peroxide, salicylates, or sulfur) at the same time as Benzac wash gel, as they may increase the risk of skin irritation.
- Avoid using Benzac wash gel simultaneously with other peeling or exfoliating products, alcohol-containing preparations, abrasive soaps or cleansers, cosmetics, or drying agents.

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant, or are planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
Benzac wash gel must not be used during pregnancy.
If you become pregnant while using Benzac wash gel, treatment should be stopped and you should inform your doctor as soon as possible.
