INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT SPIRIT MEDICAL 70% (MEDICAL ALCOHOL 70%)

Composition:

Active substance: ethanol;

not less than 69.3% vol/vol and not more than 70.7% vol/vol ethanol and water.

Pharmaceutical form.

Solution for external use.

Main physicochemical properties: clear, colorless, volatile, highly flammable liquid. Hygroscopic.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics.

Exerts antiseptic, disinfectant, and local irritant effects when applied externally. Ethanol coagulates proteins and is active against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria as well as viruses.

Pharmacokinetics.

Not absorbed through the skin when applied locally.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Furuncles, panaritium, infiltrates, mastitis in the initial stages.

For rubbing and compresses.

For surgical hand disinfection.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity. Acute inflammatory skin conditions.

Special precautions.

In case of skin redness or irritation, discontinue use of the medicinal product and wash the liquid off with water.

Avoid contact of the preparation with eyes!

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

With topical application of ethanol, interactions with other medicinal products are unknown.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the use of this medicinal product is possible only if the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Ability to influence the reaction rate when driving or operating machinery.

Has no effect.

Administration and Dosage

External use only –– for rubbing, compresses, and skin disinfection, including hands.

For compresses and rubbing (to prevent irritation), ethanol should be diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio.

Children

Use as directed by a physician.

Overdose

With external application, cases of overdose are unknown.

Adverse reactions.

With local application, skin or mucous membrane irritation is possible.

If any adverse events occur, consult a physician.

Shelf life.

5 years.

Do not use the medicinal product after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

Storage conditions.

Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, away from fire.

Keep out of reach of children.
