INSTRUCTION FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT CAMPHOR ALCOHOL

Composition:

Active ingredient: racemic camphor;

100 ml of solution contain 10 g of racemic camphor;

Excipient: ethanol 70%.

Pharmaceutical form. Alcohol solution for external use.

Main physicochemical properties: clear colorless liquid with a specific camphor odor.

Pharmacotherapeutic group. Topical agents used for joint and muscle pain.

Pharmacological properties.

The drug exerts antimicrobial, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, and irritant effects.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Topically - for inflammatory conditions (arthritis, myositis, arthralgia, myalgia, sciatica), and for prevention of pressure ulcers.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity. Skin ulcerative-necrotic disorders, predisposition to convulsive reactions.

Special precautions.

Avoid contact of the drug with eyes.

Avoid contact of the drug with mucous membranes. In case of accidental contact, rinse the affected area thoroughly with copious amounts of running water.

The recommended application instructions for the medicinal product must not be violated, as this may harm health.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding, the use of this medicinal product is possible only if the expected benefit for the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Ability to influence the speed of reactions while driving or operating machinery.

Has no effect.

Method of Administration and Dosage.

Camphor alcohol is used externally in adults for rubbing into the skin in the pathological conditions indicated. Apply to the skin 2–3 times daily.

The duration of treatment is determined individually.

Children.

Not recommended for children under 12 years of age.

Overdose.

Increased incidence of adverse reactions. Symptomatic treatment.

Side effects.

Possible manifestations of allergic reactions, rashes, urticaria, skin irritation, headache, dizziness.

Shelf life. 5 years.

The drug must not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

Store in a protected from light place at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
