INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT SEPTAVIOL 70% (Septaviol 70%)

Composition:

Active substance: ethanol;

69.3 % v/v to 70.7 % v/v ethanol and water.

Pharmaceutical form. Solution for external use.

Main physicochemical properties: transparent, colorless, volatile, flammable liquid. Hygroscopic.

Pharmacotherapeutic group. Antiseptics and disinfectants.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics. When applied externally, exerts an antiseptic, disinfectant, and local irritant effect. Ethanol coagulates proteins and is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria as well as viruses.

Pharmacokinetics. When applied locally, it is not absorbed through the skin.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications. Furuncles, panaritium, infiltrates, mastitis in the initial stages. For wiping and compresses. Surgical hand disinfection.

Contraindications. Hypersensitivity. Should not be used in acute inflammatory skin conditions.

Special precautions.

In case of skin redness and irritation, discontinue use of the medicinal product and wash the liquid off with water.

Avoid contact of the preparation with eyes!

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

With topical application of ethanol, interactions with other medicinal products are unknown.

Special precautions for use.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The use of the drug during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible only when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Ability to affect speed of reaction when driving vehicles or operating machinery. Does not affect.

Method of administration and dosage.

Externally — for rubbing, compresses, and disinfection of the skin, including hands.

For compresses and rubbing (for prevention of frostbite), ethanol should be diluted with water in a 1:1 ratio.

Children. Use only as directed by a physician.

Overdose. Cases of overdose are unknown with external application.

Side effects.

Skin or mucous membrane irritation is possible with local use.

If any adverse reactions occur, consult a physician.

Shelf life. 5 years.

The medicinal product must not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

Storage conditions. Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25°C. Keep out of reach of children. Protect from fire.

Packaging. 50 ml or 100 ml in glass or polymer bottles. 0.5 L, 1 L, 2 L, 5 L, 10 L, or 20 L in canisters.
