INSTRUCTION FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT CHAMOMILE FLOWERS

Composition:

Active substance: chamomile flowers;

One packet contains 50 g of chamomile flowers (Chamomillae flos).

Dosage form. Flowers.

Main physico-chemical properties: a mixture of whole, crushed, partially shed flower heads, tubular and ligulate florets, receptacles, with admixtures of fragments of stems and leaves. Color ranges from light yellow to yellowish-green with white and brownish specks.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics.

The biologically active substances of the medicinal product exert spasmolytic, analgesic, anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, diaphoretic, choleretic, and sedative effects; reduce allergic reactions, enhance regenerative processes, increase secretory activity of the digestive glands, stimulate appetite, relieve intestinal spasms, and reduce fermentation processes.

Indications.

Orally, as part of complex therapy, use for gastritis, inflammatory diseases of the liver and gallbladder, enterocolitis, meteorism, and respiratory infections. Externally—for inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and throat.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to the active substances of the medicinal product.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions.

Special precautions for use.

"Chamomile flowers" is a traditional herbal medicinal product for use according to indications supported by long-standing use.

The patient should consult a physician if symptoms persist during the use of the medicinal product or if adverse reactions occur that are not listed in the product's instructions for medical use.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Under medical supervision, if the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus/infant.

Effect on ability to drive and use machines.

Dosage and Administration.

Place 3 tablespoons of flowers into an enameled container, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid, and heat on a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, then strain, squeezing the residue and adding the expressed liquid to the strained infusion. Adjust the volume of the infusion to 200 ml with boiled water.

Administer warm, 3 times daily after meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – ⅓ cup; for children aged 12–14 years – ¼ cup; aged 7–12 years – 2 tablespoons; aged 3–7 years – 1 tablespoon; aged 1–3 years – 1 dessert spoon; aged 6 months to 1 year – ½ to 1 teaspoon. Externally, use the infusion for rinsing 3–4 times daily. Shake the infusion before use.

The duration of treatment is determined individually by a physician.

Children.

Use in children aged 6 months and older only as prescribed by a physician.

Side effects.

Allergic reactions are possible (including hyperemia, rash, itching, and skin swelling). If adverse reactions occur, discontinue use of the medicinal product.

Shelf life. 1 year.

Storage conditions.

Store in a dry, dark place at a temperature not exceeding 25°C.

The prepared infusion should be stored at a temperature between 8°C and 15°C for no more than 2 days.
