INSTRUCTION FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT TRAVELER'S JUICE

Composition:

1 vial contains:

Active substances: juice of Plantago psyllium 50 ml, juice of Plantago major 50 ml;

Excipients: ethanol (96%), sodium metabisulfite (E 223).

Pharmaceutical form. Oral liquid.

Main physicochemical properties: dark brown liquid with a specific odor. Sediment formation may occur during storage. Shake well before use.

Agents affecting the digestive system and metabolism. Appetite stimulants.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics.

Plantain contains the glycoside rinnanthin, flavonoids, polysaccharides, bitter and tannin substances, pectin, vitamin C, carotene, tannins, enzymes, and other compounds. This complex of biologically active substances enhances gastric secretory function and stimulates appetite.

Indications.

Anorexia; achylia gastrica; functional dyspepsia occurring against a background of reduced gastric juice secretion.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to the components of the medicinal product.

Gastroesophageal reflux disease, including reflux esophagitis, increased gastric acidity, gastric and duodenal ulcers.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions.

Antacids and H2-blockers reduce the effectiveness of the drug.

Special precautions for use

The "Plantain Juice" should be used orally only in cases of gastritis with reduced or normal gastric acid secretion.

Do not exceed the recommended doses when administered internally.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

During pregnancy or breastfeeding, "Plantain Juice" should be used only when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Ability to affect reaction speed when driving or operating machinery

Due to the possibility of adverse reactions from the central nervous system and because the preparation contains 20% ethanol, driving or operating machinery requiring high attention should be avoided.

Method of Administration and Dosage.

Take "Plantain Juice" orally, 15–30 minutes before meals. Take 1 tablespoon 3 times a day. For children aged 12 years and older — 1 drop per year of life, twice daily. Treatment duration is 30 days.

Children.

The medicinal product is not used in children under 12 years of age.

Overdose.

Cases of overdose have not been reported.

Side effects.

Allergic reactions, including hyperemia, rash, itching, skin swelling. Burning sensation.

Metabisulfite contained in the preparation may cause severe hypersensitivity reactions, bronchospasm.

If any adverse reactions occur, discontinue use of "Plantago juice" and consult a physician regarding further use.

Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
