INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT MENOVAZIN (MENOVASINUM)

Composition:

Active substances: menthol, novocaine (procaine hydrochloride), anesthesin (benzocaine);

100 ml of solution contains: menthol — 2.5 g, novocaine (procaine hydrochloride) — 1 g, anesthesin (benzocaine) — 1 g;

Excipient: ethanol 70%.

Pharmaceutical form. Topical alcoholic solution.

Main physico-chemical properties: colorless, clear liquid with a characteristic odor of menthol.

Pharmacotherapeutic group.

Agents used locally for joint and muscular pain.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics. The medicinal product has anti-pruritic action and local anesthetic effect. When applied to the skin and mucous membranes, it stimulates nerve endings, causing a sensation of cold, mild burning, and tingling.

It exerts a mild analgesic effect.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

The medicinal product is indicated for neuralgias, myalgias, and arthralgias.

Contraindications.

Menovazin is contraindicated in individuals with hypersensitivity to procaine and other components of the medicinal product.

Special precautions.

Do not apply to damaged skin or skin exhibiting allergic reactions. Do not apply to facial skin.

The instructions for use of the medicinal product must not be violated, as this may harm health.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions.

Components of the medicinal product (procaine, anestezin) reduce the antibacterial effect of sulfonamide drugs and enhance the effects of agents with local anesthetic action.

When using any other medicinal products concurrently, inform your doctor.

Special precautions.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

The use of the medicinal product during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible only when the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Ability to affect reaction speed when driving or operating machinery.

Method of administration and dosage.

The medicinal product is intended for topical use. Affected painful areas should be rubbed with Menovazin 2–3 times a day. The duration of treatment depends on the form and severity of the disease, the drug's effect, and the type of therapy (monotherapy or combination therapy with other medicinal agents).

Children.

Do not use in children under 12 years of age.

Overdose.

With prolonged use, dizziness, general weakness, decreased arterial pressure, and allergic reactions may occur. If such symptoms appear, discontinue use of the drug, wash off any residue from the skin surface with water, and administer symptomatic therapy.

Side effects.

Allergic reactions are possible (hyperemia, skin irritation, itching sensation, rash, swelling, urticaria).

If any adverse events occur, consult a physician immediately!

2 years.

The medicinal product must not be used after the expiry date stated on the package.

Store at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, in a light-protected and child-inaccessible place.
