Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte
500 mg, prolonged-release hard capsules

important information for the patient.
This medicine should always be used exactly as described in this patient leaflet or as directed by

1. What is Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte and what is it used for
Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte contains vitamin C – ascorbic acid, a compound essential for the body. Vitamin C supports the immune system and is the body's primary antioxidant.
Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte is formulated as prolonged-release capsules. This allows high concentrations of vitamin C to be maintained in the body for over 12 hours after capsule administration.
Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte capsules are indicated for:
- Prevention and treatment of vitamin C deficiency states (vitamin C deficiency may occur during pregnancy and lactation, in smokers, in elderly individuals, during periods of stress, when following certain diets such as elimination diets, and in individuals regularly consuming alcohol),
- Maintaining resistance to infections and reducing symptoms associated with the common cold, as well as shortening the duration of illness,
- Treatment and prevention of periodontosis, dental caries, gingivitis, and scurvy,
- As an adjunct: in conditions of reduced body resistance, in the treatment of anaemia, and to accelerate wound healing and scar formation.
Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte is indicated for use in adults and children over 6 years of age.
2. Information before using Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte
When not to use Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte:
- if the patient is allergic to the active substance or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6);
- in case of bladder disorders, oxalate kidney stones, or diseases related to iron storage disorders (thalassemia, hemochromatosis, sideroblastic anemia), or other diseases affecting iron levels.
Warnings and precautions
High concentrations of vitamin C may alter the results of certain laboratory tests. If laboratory tests are required, the doctor should be informed about vitamin C intake.
Before using Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte, discuss with a doctor in the following cases:
glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase deficiency,
- kidney disorders. Do not exceed the recommended dose.
Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte and other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are currently taking or have recently taken, as well as any medicines you plan to take.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
The medicine may be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding at the recommended doses. Do not exceed the recommended dosage during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ascorbic acid passes into breast milk and crosses the placenta.
Driving and operating machinery
Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte has no influence on the ability to drive or operate machinery.
Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte contains sucrose and sodium
Sucrose
The medicine contains 40.57 mg of sucrose. If the patient has previously been diagnosed with intolerance to certain sugars, the patient should consult a doctor before taking this medicine.
Sodium
The medicine contains less than 1 mmol (23 mg) of sodium per capsule, meaning the medicine is considered "sodium-free".
3. How to use Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte
This medicine should always be taken exactly as described in this patient leaflet or as directed by
your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse. If in doubt, consult your doctor,
pharmacist, or nurse.
Method of administration
For oral use.
Use in adults and adolescents over 13 years of age
One to two capsules daily.
Use in children aged 6–12 years
One capsule daily.
Do not chew the capsule, as this may disrupt the absorption of the medicine.
If you feel the effect of the medicine is too strong or too weak, consult your doctor.
If symptoms persist, consult your doctor.
Do not take a higher dose than recommended.
Do not use this medicine in children under 6 years of age.
Taking more Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte than recommended
If you take more than the recommended dose, contact your doctor immediately.
4. Possible adverse reactions
Like all medicines, this product may cause adverse reactions, although not everybody experiences them.
Vitamin C is generally well tolerated. No adverse reactions have been observed when the recommended dose is used.
Possible adverse reactions:
- allergic reactions, including shortness of breath, angioedema, skin rash;
- headache, dizziness;
- nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, heartburn, abdominal pain;
- feeling of fatigue.

If any adverse reactions occur, including any adverse reactions not listed in this leaflet, inform your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse. 5. How to store Rutinoscorbin Vitamin C Forte
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Store below 25°C.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
The expiry date refers to the last day of the stated month.
Medicines must not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. Such measures help protect the environment.
6. Contents of the package and other information
What Rutinoscorbin Witamina C Forte contains
- The active substance is Acidum ascorbicum. One prolonged-release capsule contains 500 mg of Acidum ascorbicum.
- Other ingredients are: shellac, sucrose, corn starch, talc, tartaric acid, stearic acid, gelatin, water, riboflavin, sodium lauryl sulfate.
