It may therefore be purchased without a prescription, but must be used correctly to ensure its effectiveness and

NEOXENE 10 mg SUPPOSITORIES
WHAT IT IS
NEOXENE is a disinfectant for gynaecological use.
WHY IT IS USED
NEOXENE is used for disinfection of the vaginal mucosa.
WHEN IT MUST NOT BE USED
Hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients.
PRECAUTIONS FOR USE
This medicine is for vaginal use only and must not be swallowed. After application of Neoxene, it is
recommended to wash hands; in case of contact with eyes, rinse immediately with
abundant water. The use, especially if prolonged, of topical products may lead to sensitization reactions; in such cases, discontinue treatment and consult a doctor to establish appropriate therapy.
WHICH MEDICINES OR FOODS MAY AFFECT THE MEDICINE'S EFFECT
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you have recently taken any other medicines, including those without a prescription.
Avoid concomitant use of other antiseptics and detergents.
Use during pregnancy and breastfeeding:
Use only when strictly necessary and under direct medical supervision. During pregnancy and
breastfeeding, NEOXENE should be used only after consulting a doctor and evaluating with him the risk/benefit ratio in your individual case.
Consult your doctor if you suspect you are pregnant or wish to plan a pregnancy.
Effects on ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery
NEOXENE does not impair the ability to drive vehicles or operate machinery.
Information about certain excipients
This medicine contains propyl parahydroxybenzoate and ethyl parahydroxybenzoate as
excipients and therefore may be mildly irritating to the skin, eyes, and mucous membranes.
HOW TO USE THIS MEDICINE
DOSAGE
One, maximum two suppositories daily.
Caution: do not exceed the recommended doses.
WHEN AND FOR HOW LONG
DO NOT use for more than ten consecutive days.
Consult a doctor if symptoms recur repeatedly or if you notice any recent changes in their characteristics.
Caution: use only for short-term treatment.
UNDESIRABLE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, NEOXENE may cause adverse effects, although not everyone experiences them.
In some cases, intolerance (such as burning or irritation) may occur, but this is generally without serious consequences and does not require modification of treatment.
Following the instructions in this leaflet reduces the risk of adverse effects.

EXPIRY DATE AND STORAGE
Expiry date: see the date printed on the packaging. The expiry date refers to the product in its original, unopened packaging, stored correctly.
Caution: do not use the medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
Do not store above 25°C.
Keep in the original packaging to protect the medicine from light.
Medicines must not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer in use. This will help protect the environment.
Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
It is important to always keep the medicine information available; therefore, retain both the outer box and the package leaflet.

Active substance:
C hlorhexidine digluconate 10 mg
Excipients:
Glycerol, Gelatin, Propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, Ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate, Patent Blue, Purified water.
