I N S T R U C T I O N for medical use of the medicinal product OBLIPICHOVI SUPPOSITORIES (SUPPOSITORIA HIPPOPHAE)
Composition:
Active substance: sea buckthorn oil concentrate;
1 suppository contains 0.3 g of sea buckthorn oil concentrate;
Excipient: hard fat.
Pharmaceutical form. Rectal suppositories.
Main physico-chemical properties: suppositories of dark orange to orange color.

Agents affecting the gastrointestinal system and metabolic processes. ATC code A16AX.
Pharmacological properties.
Pharmacodynamics.
The drug exerts anti-inflammatory and reparative (wound-healing) effects, determined by the membrane-stabilizing and antioxidant properties of sea buckthorn oil.
Pharmacokinetics.
When the suppository is administered rectally, the effect of the drug appears within 15–90 minutes. The duration of the systemic action of alkaloids ranges from 2 to 6 hours.
Clinical characteristics.
Indications.
In proctology – for chronic diseases of the rectum, hemorrhoids, colitis.
Contraindications.
Individual hypersensitivity to the components of the drug; diarrhea, inflammatory diseases of the pancreas, cholelithiasis.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

Special precautions.
Before starting treatment, consult your doctor! Do not use the medication for longer than the recommended duration without consulting a doctor! If symptoms do not begin to improve, or if your condition worsens, or if adverse reactions occur, consult your doctor for advice regarding further use of the medication.

The medication may be used during pregnancy or breastfeeding only if, in the opinion of the physician, the expected benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus/child.

Dosage and Administration.
Administer rectally after bowel evacuation; insert the suppository deeply into the rectum.
Adults and children aged 12 years and older: 1 suppository 1–3 times daily for 7–10 days.
Children aged 6 to 12 years: 1 suppository once daily for 7–10 days.
The duration of treatment is determined by a physician depending on the nature and course of the disease.

Overdose.
Cases of overdose have not been reported.
Side effects.
Allergic reactions and a burning sensation in the anal area are possible.
