INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT LEPKHY RHIZOMES (CALAMIRHIZOMATA)

Composition:

Active substance: lepky rhizomes (Calamirhizomata);

1 pack contains: lepky rhizomes (Calamirhizomata) 30 g or 75 g or 100 g;

1 filter bag contains: lepky rhizomes (Calamirhizomata) 1.5 g.

Pharmaceutical form. Rhizomes.

Main physicochemical properties: pieces of rhizomes of various shapes. Color is yellowish or pink, sometimes greenish with yellowish-brown, reddish-brown or brown inclusions.

Pharmacotherapeutic group. Appetite stimulants. ATC code A15.

Pharmacological properties.

Pharmacodynamics. The biologically active substances of the drug, by acting on taste receptor endings, enhance appetite, improve digestion, intensify reflex secretion of gastric juice, enhance hepatic bile excretion, increase gallbladder tone, and increase diuresis; they exhibit tonic, anti-inflammatory, expectorant, choleretic, spasmolytic, antibacterial, and disinfectant effects.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Non-specific gastrointestinal tract functional disorders (loss of appetite, digestive and gastric secretory function disorders, achylia, intestinal colics, flatulence) – as part of complex therapy. Inflammatory diseases of the oral cavity and throat.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to biologically active components of the drug. Increased gastric juice acidity.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

Reduces the effectiveness of antacids, H2-receptor blockers (ranitidine, famotidine).

Special precautions.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Contraindicated.

Ability to affect reaction speed when driving or operating machinery.

Dosage and Administration.

Place 1 tablespoon of rhizomes into an enameled container, pour 200 mL of hot boiled water, cover with a lid, and heat on a boiling water bath for 30 minutes. Allow to cool at room temperature for 10 minutes, then strain, squeezing the residue into the strained decoction. Adjust the decoction volume to 200 mL with boiled water. Take warm, 3–4 times daily, 30 minutes before meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – ¼ cup; for children aged 12–14 years – 2 tablespoons; for children aged 7–12 years – 1 tablespoon. Shake the decoction before administration.

The prepared decoction should be diluted with water (2–3 times) and used for rinsing the mouth and throat.

Place 3 filter bags into a glass or enameled container, pour 200 mL of boiling water, cover, and let stand for 15–20 minutes. Take warm, 3–4 times daily, 30 minutes before meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – ½ cup; for children aged 12–14 years – ¼ cup; for children aged 7–12 years – 2 tablespoons. Use the prepared infusion for rinsing the mouth and throat.

Store the prepared aqueous extract at 8–15 °C for no more than 2 days.

The duration of treatment is determined individually by a physician.

Children.

The drug is indicated for children aged 7 years and older.

Overdose.

No cases reported.

Side effects.

Allergic reactions (including urticaria, rash, itching, swelling).

Shelf life. 3 years when packed in packs, 2 years in filter bags. Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

Storage conditions. Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C, in a place inaccessible to children.

Packaging. 30 g, 75 g, or 100 g in packs with an inner pouch; 1.5 g in filter bags No. 20 in a pack or in a pack with an inner pouch.
