I N S T R U C T I O N for medical use of the medicinal product CHEST HERBAL Mixture № 2 (PECTORALESSPECIES № 2)
Composition:
Active substances: 1 g of the mixture contains: coltsfoot leaves (Farfarae folia) 400 mg, greater plantain leaves (Plantaginis majoris folia) 300 mg, licorice roots (Glycyrrhizae radices) 300 mg.
Medicinal form. Herbal mixture.
Main physico-chemical properties: a mixture of heterogeneous fragments of green, brownish-green, whitish-grey, and light-yellow color.
Pharmacotherapeutic group. Medicinal products used in cough and colds. Expectorants. ATC code R05C A10.
Pharmacological properties.
Pharmacodynamics.
The biologically active substances of the herbal mixture exert expectorant, anti-inflammatory, demulcent, and antitussive effects; enhance the functional activity of the respiratory epithelium, promote liquefaction and elimination of sputum, and reduce coughing.
Clinical characteristics.
Indications.
Inflammatory diseases of the respiratory tract (bronchitis, bronchopneumonia, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasis) – as part of complex therapy.
Contraindications.
Hypersensitivity to the active substances of the drug. Liver cirrhosis, chronic renal failure, diabetes mellitus, hypokalemia, arterial hypertension, organic heart lesions, obesity.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interactions. Unknown.
Special precautions.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Not recommended for use.
Ability to affect reaction speed when driving vehicles or operating machinery. Not established.
Method of Administration and Dosage
Place 1 tablespoon of the herbal mixture into an enameled container, pour 200 mL of hot boiled water, cover with a lid, and heat on a water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, then strain and squeeze the residue into the strained infusion. Adjust the volume of the infusion to 200 mL with boiled water. Take warm, 2–3 times daily after meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – ½ cup; for children aged 12–14 years – ¼ cup; for children aged 7–12 years – 2 tablespoons; for children aged 3–7 years – 1 tablespoon. Shake the infusion before use.
Place 2 filter bags into a glass or enameled container, pour 200 mL of boiling water, cover, and let steep for 15 minutes. Take warm, 2–3 times daily after meals: for adults and children aged 14 years and older – 1 cup; for children aged 12–14 years – ½ cup; for children aged 7–12 years – ¼ cup; for children aged 3–7 years – 2 tablespoons.
Store the prepared infusion at 8–15 °C for no more than 2 days.
The duration of treatment is determined individually by a physician.
Children. The product may be used in children aged 3 years and older under medical supervision.
Overdose. No reports of overdose have been reported.
Side effects.
Allergic reactions are possible.
Shelf life. 3 years.
Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
Storage conditions. Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 30 °C, in a place inaccessible to children.
Packaging. 50 g in packs with an inner pouch; 1.5 g in tea bags, 20 tea bags per pack or in a pack with an inner pouch.
