HAWETHORN TINCTURE |
Composition:Active ingredient: hawthorn fruit tincture; 1 bottle contains hawthorn fruit tincture (Crataegi fructus) (1:10) (extraction solvent – 70% ethanol) 100 ml. |

| Pharmaceutical form. Tincture. Main physicochemical properties: clear liquid, yellow to brown in color with an orange-red tint, with a specific odor. Sediment may form during storage. |

Pharmacological properties.Biologically active substances contained in hawthorn fruits enhance blood circulation in the coronary vessels of the heart and in cerebral vessels, increase myocardial sensitivity to cardiac glycosides, moderately strengthen myocardial contractions and reduce its excitability. The drug is well absorbed when administered orally. The effect occurs within 30 minutes to 1 hour. |

Clinical characteristics.Indications. Functional disorders of the cardiovascular system (including neurocirculatory dystonia). As an adjunctive agent in mild forms of cardiac arrhythmias (atrial fibrillation, paroxysmal tachycardia). |

| Contraindications. Severe arterial hypotension, bradycardia, hypersensitivity to biologically active substances contained in the drug. |
|
| Special precautions. The drug is not recommended to be taken during meals to avoid interactions with food components. |
|
| Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction. The tincture may potentiate the effect of cardiac glycosides and antiarrhythmic agents. Concomitant use with alkaloid salts is not recommended due to the possibility of forming adverse components. The drug should not be used concomitantly with cisapride. May enhance the effects of sedatives, hypnotics, and antihypertensive agents. Inform your physician about any concomitant use of other medicinal products. |

Special instructions.Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. The drug is contraindicated in women during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Ability to influence reaction rate when driving or operating machinery. The drug contains alcohol and may cause drowsiness; therefore, during treatment with the tincture, patients should refrain from driving vehicles and from performing other tasks requiring high attention, and rapid mental or physical reactions. |

Method and dosage of administration.Take orally before meals. Adults are recommended to take 20 drops of the tincture three times daily. Children aged 12 years and older should take 1 drop per year of life, three times daily. Treatment should continue until a stable therapeutic effect is achieved. The duration of treatment is determined individually by a physician. If the medicine is sealed with a non-dropper stopper, use a medical glass pipette; the dosage remains unchanged. Children. The drug is not used in children under 12 years of age. |

| Overdose. Symptoms: decreased arterial pressure, drowsiness, bradycardia. Treatment: discontinue the drug; symptomatic therapy. |

Adverse reactions.Drowsiness, significant slowing of heart rate. Allergic reactions may occur (including hyperemia, rash, itching, skin swelling). If any adverse events occur, medical advice should be sought. |

| Shelf life. 5 years. The drug should not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging. |

| Storage conditions. Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C. Keep out of reach of children. |
