INSTRUCTIONS FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT HEMATOGENE (HAEMATOGENE)
Composition:
Active substance: food-grade black albumin;
1 tablet contains 2.5 g of food-grade black albumin;
Excipients: condensed milk with sugar, starch syrup, sucrose, vanillin.
Pharmaceutical form. Tablets.
Main physico-chemical properties: embossed tablets of brown or dark brown color, divided along and across by lines into segments, sweet taste, with a slight vanillin odor.

Pharmacodynamics.
Hematogen is a remedy for correction of metabolic processes. It is a source of complete protein, fats, carbohydrates, and minerals present in proportions close to the composition of human blood. The medicinal product stimulates hematopoiesis, promotes iron absorption in the intestine, increases hemoglobin levels in the blood, and regulates redox processes in the body.

Clinical characteristics.
Indications.
As an adjunctive agent in anemias of various etiologies, particularly posthemorrhagic and iron-deficiency anemia; in conditions accompanied by hypotrophy and cachexia; during the convalescence period following various diseases.
Contraindications.
- Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug;
- anemias unrelated to iron deficiency;
- carbohydrate metabolism disorders.
Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

It is recommended to follow the prescribed dosing regimen of the drug.
Since the medicinal product contains sucrose, it is contraindicated in patients with hereditary fructose intolerance, sucrase-isomaltase deficiency.
The drug should be used with caution in patients with diabetes mellitus.
Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.
The use of the drug during pregnancy or breastfeeding is possible only after consulting a physician, who will determine the benefit-risk ratio.
Ability to influence reaction rate while driving or operating machinery.
There is no data on the negative impact of the drug on the reaction speed while driving or operating machinery.
Administration and dosage.
Hematogen is taken orally. For prophylactic purposes, administer to children from the age of 2 years, adolescents, and adults – 1–2 tablets 2–3 times daily for 1–2 months. During the convalescence period following iron-deficiency anemia, the drug should be administered at a dose of 2 tablets per day for 2 months.
Children. This medicinal product is intended for children aged 2 years and older.
Overdose. No cases of overdose have been reported.
Side effects.
Gastrointestinal tract: nausea, diarrhea.
Allergic reactions are possible in individuals with increased sensitivity.
Reporting of suspected adverse reactions.
Reporting suspected adverse reactions after marketing authorization of a medicinal product is an important procedure. It enables ongoing monitoring of the benefit-risk balance of the medicinal product.
