INSTRUCTION FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT EUCALYPTUS VIMINALIS LEAVES (EUCALYPTI VIMINALIS FOLIA)

Composition:

Active substance: eucalyptus viminalis leaves (Eucalypti viminalis folia);

1 pack contains eucalyptus viminalis leaves (Eucalypti viminalis folia) 75 g;

1 filter bag contains eucalyptus viminalis leaves (Eucalypti viminalis folia) 2.5 g.

Pharmaceutical form. Leaves.

Main physico-chemical properties: fragments of leaves of various shapes, with admixtures of buds, fruits, and small twig pieces, from light green to grayish-green, sometimes with a purple tinge and a slight whitish bloom, with an aromatic odor.

Pharmacotherapeutic group. Agents for use in dentistry. ATC code A01AD11.

Pharmacological Properties

Pharmacodynamics

The active ingredients of the drug exert antiseptic, anti-inflammatory, analgesic, astringent, reparative, and expectorant effects; exhibit bactericidal and bacteriostatic activity against streptococci, staphylococci, Shigella, Escherichia coli, as well as against pyogenic and anaerobic microorganisms; promote rapid wound healing.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

Diseases of the oral cavity and upper respiratory tract (stomatitis, gingivitis, laryngitis, pharyngitis, tracheitis), fresh and infected wounds, inflammatory diseases of female genital organs.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to biologically active substances of the drug. Bronchial asthma, bronchospasm, whooping cough, croup.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other types of interactions.

Unknown.

Special precautions.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Under a doctor's prescription, if the benefit to the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus/child.

Ability to affect reaction speed when driving or operating machinery.

Has no effect.

Method of Administration and Dosage

Place 2 tablespoons of leaves into an enameled container, pour 200 ml of hot boiled water, cover with a lid, and steep in a boiling water bath for 15 minutes. Cool at room temperature for 45 minutes, then strain and squeeze the residue into the strained infusion. Adjust the volume of the infusion to 200 ml with boiled water. Shake the infusion well before use.

For external use in inhalations and gargling 3–4 times daily:

• Adults and children aged 12 years and older: dilute 1 tablespoon of infusion in 200 ml of boiled water;
• Children aged 7–12 years: dilute 1 dessert spoon of infusion in 200 ml of boiled water;
• Children aged 3–7 years: dilute 1 teaspoon of infusion in 200 ml of boiled water.

Place 2 filter bags into a glass or enameled container, pour 200 ml of boiling water, cover, and steep for 15 minutes. For external use in inhalations and gargling 3–4 times daily:

• Adults and children aged 12 years and older: dilute 2 tablespoons of the prepared infusion in 200 ml of boiled water;
• Children aged 7–12 years: dilute 1 tablespoon of the prepared infusion in 200 ml of boiled water;
• Children aged 3–7 years: dilute 1 dessert spoon of the prepared infusion in 200 ml of boiled water.

In gynecological and surgical practice, use as compresses, irrigations, and douching.

Store the prepared infusion at 8–15°C for no more than 2 days.

The duration of treatment course is determined individually by a physician.

Children

The product can be used in children aged 3 years and older.

Overdose

With prolonged and frequent inhalation use, dryness of the mucous membranes of the respiratory tract may occur.

Side effects.

Allergic reactions (including hyperemia, rash, itching, skin swelling, urticaria, contact dermatitis). If adverse reactions occur, discontinue use of the product.

Shelf life. 2 years. Do not use the product after the expiry date stated on the packaging.

Storage conditions. Store in the original packaging at a temperature not exceeding 25°C, in a place inaccessible to children.

Packaging. 75 g per package with inner pouch; 2.5 g in filter bags No. 20 in a package or in a package with inner pouch.

Availability. Over-the-counter (without prescription).
