INSTRUCTION FOR MEDICAL USE OF THE MEDICINAL PRODUCT ANTI-TROMB

Composition:

Active ingredient: emoxypine;

1 g of ointment contains emoxypine 10 mg;

Excipients: ricinus oil, propylene glycol, emulsifier No. 1, bronitol, purified water;

Excipients included in emulsifier No. 1: cetyl alcohol, stearyl alcohol.

Pharmaceutical form. Ointment.

Main physicochemical characteristics: white ointment of homogeneous consistency, with a weak specific odor.

Pharmacotherapeutic group.

Capillary-protecting agents. ATC code C05CX.

Pharmacological characteristics.

Pharmacodynamics.

The drug exerts a direct anticoagulant effect, reduces blood viscosity, decreases vascular wall permeability, normalizes microcirculatory hemostasis, improves functional state of ischemic tissues, and also exhibits anti-inflammatory, thrombolytic, and regenerative effects.

The ointment base – propylene glycol – ensures penetration of emoxypine to the depth of superficial blood vessels.

Pharmacokinetics.

Maximum release of the active ingredient begins 30 minutes after application of the ointment and reaches peak concentration within 1.5 hours. This concentration is maintained for 6–8 hours.

Clinical characteristics.

Indications.

As part of complex therapy: superficial acute thrombophlebitis, acute anorectal thrombosis, post-injection phlebitis.

Contraindications.

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction.

Concomitant use with heavy metal salt solutions is not recommended to prevent the formation of poorly soluble complexes.

When using any other medicinal products concurrently, inform your physician.

Special precautions for use

In the presence of open injuries, apply the ointment only to the adjacent tissues.

Use during pregnancy or breastfeeding

Since experience with the use of the medicinal product during pregnancy or breastfeeding is limited, the ointment should be prescribed only when the expected benefit for the mother outweighs the potential risk to the fetus or infant.

Ability to affect driving performance and operating machinery

Has no effect.

Dosage and Administration.

For adults, apply the ointment to the affected skin area as a thin layer (0.1 g/cm²) three times daily. In case of anorectal thrombosis, apply 1–3 g of the ointment twice daily. Treatment duration is 5–10 days.

Children.

The safety and efficacy of the drug in children have not been studied; therefore, Antitromb should not be prescribed to this age group of patients.

Overdose.

Not observed.

Side effects.

When applying the ointment to the skin, mild burning and irritation may occur, which disappear within 2–3 minutes. Hypersensitivity reactions are possible.
