1. What Asmag is and what it is used for

Asmag is a medicinal product containing magnesium.
Magnesium is one of the essential structural components of the human body.
Magnesium exerts a protective effect on the heart muscle, participates in bone development and mineralization, is necessary for the synthesis of certain hormones (e.g., insulin), counteracts stress, hypoxia, allergies, and inflammatory conditions.
Magnesium deficiency weakens the body's immune system, leads to disorders of the circulatory and nervous systems, muscles, and bone tissue, and accelerates the development of atherosclerosis.
Indications:

  • Prevention and treatment of magnesium deficiency in the body.

2. Important information before using Asmag

When not to use Asmag

  • if the patient is allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substance or to any of the other ingredients of the medicine (listed in section 6);
  • if the patient has severe kidney failure;
  • if the patient has increased magnesium levels in the blood;
  • if the patient has heart function disorders (feeling that the heartbeat is too slow, fast, or irregular);
  • if the patient has a disease called myasthenia gravis (a rare disorder characterized by excessive muscle weakness);
  • if the patient has diarrhoea;
  • if the patient is being treated with antibiotics.

Warnings and precautions
Administration of doses higher than recommended may cause diarrhoea.
Children
Do not use doses higher than recommended.
Asmag and other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist about all medicines you are currently taking or have recently taken, as well as any medicines you plan to use.
Do not take Asmag at the same time as the following medicines:

  • tetracycline antibiotics;
  • oral anticoagulants of the hydroxycoumarin derivatives (these medicines prevent blood clots);
  • medicines or dietary supplements containing phosphates, calcium, or iron. When taken together with Asmag, these medicines reduce its absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, thereby decreasing its effectiveness.

Taking Asmag with food and drink
Take the medicine after meals, with water.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility
If the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding, suspects she may be pregnant, or is planning to have a child, she should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
Driving and operating machinery
Asmag does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
Asmag contains monohydrate lactose. One tablet contains 50 mg of monohydrate lactose. If the patient has previously been diagnosed with intolerance to certain sugars, the patient should consult a doctor before taking this medicine.

3. How to use Asmag

This medicine should always be taken exactly as described in the patient leaflet or as directed by the doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult a doctor or pharmacist.

Use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age
Orally, 3 tablets 4 times daily.

Use in children
Orally, 1 tablet 2 to 3 times daily.

Asmag should be taken after meals, with water.

Overdose of Asmag
In case of taking more than the recommended dose, consult a doctor or pharmacist. Symptoms of overdose may occur (listed in section 4).

Missed dose of Asmag
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

4. Possible adverse reactions

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause adverse reactions, although not everyone will experience them.
When used according to the recommended dosage, no adverse reactions have been observed.
Administration of a higher dose of the medicine may cause adverse symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea.

Reporting of adverse reactions
If any adverse reactions occur, including any adverse reactions not listed in this leaflet, inform your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse. 5. How to store the medicine Asmag

Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Store below 25°C.
Keep in the original packaging to protect from moisture.
Do not use the medicine Asmag after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
The expiry date refers to the last day of the stated month.
Medicines must not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer in use. This will help protect the environment.

6. Contents of the pack and other information

What Asmag contains

  • The active substance is magnesium hydrogen aspartate tetrahydrate. One tablet contains 20 mg of magnesium ions in the form of 300 mg of magnesium hydrogen aspartate tetrahydrate.
  • Other ingredients are: monohydrate lactose, potato starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, dextrin, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type C), methylcellulose.

What Asmag looks like and contents of the pack
Asmag is a white, round tablet with the imprint "As" embossed on one side.
Available pack: 50 tablets in a container inside a cardboard box.
