1. What Asmag Forte is and what it is used for

Asmag Forte is a medicinal product containing magnesium.
Magnesium is one of the essential structural components of the human body.
Magnesium exerts a protective effect on the heart muscle, participates in bone development and mineralization, is essential for the synthesis of certain hormones, such as insulin, and helps counteract stress, hypoxia, allergies, and inflammatory conditions.
Magnesium deficiency weakens the body's immune response, leads to disorders of the circulatory and nervous systems, muscles, and bone tissue, and accelerates the development of atherosclerosis of blood vessels.
Indications:

Prevention and correction of magnesium deficiency in the body.

2. Important information before using Asmag Forte

When not to use Asmag Forte

if the patient is allergic (hypersensitive) to the active substances or to any of the other ingredients of the medicine (listed in section 6);
if the patient has severe renal insufficiency;
if the patient has increased magnesium levels in the blood;
if the patient has heart problems (such as feeling that the heartbeat is too slow, too fast, or irregular);
if the patient has a disease called myasthenia gravis (a rare condition characterized by excessive muscle weakness);
if the patient has diarrhea;
if the patient is being treated with antibiotics.

Warnings and precautions

Taking the medicine in a dose higher than recommended may cause diarrhea.

Children

Asmag Forte should not be used in children under 12 years of age.

Asmag Forte and other medicines

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are currently taking, have recently taken, or plan to take any other medicines.

Do not take Asmag Forte at the same time as the following medicines:

tetracycline antibiotics;
oral anticoagulants of the hydroxycoumarin derivatives (these medicines prevent blood clots);
medicines or dietary supplements containing phosphates, calcium, or iron. When taken together with Asmag Forte, these medicines reduce its absorption from the gastrointestinal tract, thereby decreasing its effectiveness.

Taking Asmag Forte with food and drink

Take the medicine after a meal, with water.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and fertility

If the patient is pregnant or breastfeeding, suspects she may be pregnant, or is planning to become pregnant, she should consult a doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.

Driving and operating machinery

This medicine does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.

Asmag Forte contains monohydrate lactose. One tablet contains 20 mg of monohydrate lactose.
If the patient has previously been diagnosed with intolerance to certain sugars, the patient should consult a doctor before taking this medicine.

3. How to use Asmag Forte

This medicine should always be taken exactly as described in the patient leaflet or as directed by a doctor or pharmacist. If in doubt, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Use in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age
Orally, 1 to 2 tablets three times daily.
Asmag Forte should be taken after a meal, with water.
Use of a higher than recommended dose of Asmag Forte
If more medicine is taken than recommended, consult a doctor or pharmacist.
Symptoms of overdose (listed in section 4) may occur.
Missed dose of Asmag Forte
Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed dose.

4. Possible adverse effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause adverse effects, although not everyone will experience them.
No adverse effects have been observed when the medicine is used according to the recommended dosage.
Taking a higher dose of the medicine may cause adverse symptoms such as: nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea.
Reporting of adverse effects
If any adverse symptoms occur, including any not listed in this leaflet, inform a doctor, pharmacist, or nurse.

5. How to store Asmag Forte
Keep the medicine out of sight and reach of children.
Store below 25°C.
Keep in the original packaging to protect from moisture.
Do not use Asmag Forte after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
The expiry date refers to the last day of the stated month.
Medicines must not be disposed of via the sewage system or household waste. Ask a pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. This will help protect the environment.

6. Contents of the pack and other information

What Asmag Forte contains

The active substance is magnesium hydroaspartate tetrahydrate. One tablet contains 34 mg of magnesium ions in the form of 500 mg of magnesium hydroaspartate tetrahydrate.
The other ingredients are: potato starch, lactose monohydrate, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, dextrin, sodium carboxymethyl starch (type C), methylcellulose.

What Asmag Forte looks like and contents of the pack
Asmag Forte is in the form of white, round tablets, with the imprint „ASMAG _ ” embossed on one side.
Available pack: 50 tablets in a container within a cardboard box.
