1. What Anticongestiva Cusí is and what it is used for
It belongs to the group of emollient and protective medications containing zinc. This skin paste contains zinc oxide, a substance with a protective action that absorbs moisture and has a mild astringent (healing) and moderately antiseptic (anti-infective) effect.
Anticongestiva Cusí is indicated for the protection and temporary relief of mild irritative skin conditions, such as:
Chafing, irritations, and superficial skin erosions caused by: mild or superficial burns, sunburn, intertrigo (inflammation of skin folds).
Anticongestiva Cusí is indicated for use in adults and children.
2. What you need to know before using Anticongestiva Cusí
Do not use Anticongestiva Cusí
- if you are allergic to zinc oxide, or to any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).
- if you have an infection in the area to be treated.
Warnings and precautions
Consult your doctor or pharmacist before starting to use Anticongestiva Cusí.
- Avoid contact of the medicine with eyes, ears, and other mucous membranes.
- The product should not be used for prolonged periods or over large areas of skin.
Children
Anticongestiva Cusí may be applied in children under 2 years of age.
Using Anticongestiva Cusí with other medicines
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are using or might need to use any other medicines.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or think you may be pregnant, consult your doctor or pharmacist before using this medicine.
The use of Anticongestiva Cusí during pregnancy or breastfeeding is not recommended, except if clearly necessary, taking into account the benefits versus the risks.
Anticongestiva Cusí should not be applied to the breasts if you are breastfeeding a baby.
Driving and using machines
This preparation does not affect the ability to drive or operate machinery.
Anticongestiva Cusí contains lanolin.
This medicine may cause local skin reactions (such as contact dermatitis) because it contains lanolin.
3. How to use Anticongestiva Cusí
Follow exactly the instructions for use provided in this leaflet or those indicated by your doctor. If in doubt, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is:
- Adults and children:
Generally, a thin layer of paste should be applied once or twice daily.
For topical use only.
Pierce the tube opening using the spike integrated into the cap on its upper side.
Clean and thoroughly dry the area to be treated. Then apply the paste directly onto the affected area, covering it with gauze if necessary.
If symptoms do not improve within 7 days or worsen during treatment, consult your doctor.
If you use more Anticongestiva Cusí than you should
Due to the characteristics of this preparation intended for topical use, intoxication phenomena are not expected when the product is used at the recommended doses.
In case of overdose or accidental ingestion, immediately consult your doctor or pharmacist, call the Toxicology Information Service at telephone number: 91 562 04 20, or go to a medical center, indicating the medicine and the amount ingested.
If you forget to use Anticongestiva Cusí
Do not use a double dose to make up for missed doses.
If you have any further questions about the use of this medicine, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
4. Possible adverse effects
Like all medicines, Anticongestiva Cusí may produce adverse effects, although not everyone will experience them.
The following adverse effects could occur, with frequency not exactly known:
Allergic-type reactions, local irritation, itching or burning sensation. In these cases, treatment should be discontinued and the affected area washed with water.
Granulomatous lesions (inflammatory) may appear.
Others: dryness of the skin and, with prolonged use, increase in lesion debris, leading to increased discomfort.

5. Storage of Anticongestiva Cusí
Store below 25°C.
Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date stated on the packaging after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of the month indicated.
Medicines must not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Dispose of empty containers and unused medicines at the SIGRE collection point at your pharmacy. If in doubt, ask your pharmacist how to properly dispose of unused medicines and their packaging. This will help protect the environment.
6. Contents of the package and other information
Composition of Anticongestiva Cusí

The active substance is Zinc oxide. Each gram of paste contains
250 mg of zinc oxide (25%). -
The other components (excipients) are corn starch, lanolin (wool fat), soft white paraffin, and liquid paraffin.
Appearance of the product and contents of the container
Anticongestiva Cusí is a skin paste (for use on the skin) and is supplied in a container containing 45 g of paste.
